Spotted this ceiling lamp in Rome and purchased it for the cabin. Flat-packed in an 8 x 10 inch box, the thin wood slats (painted on one side) assemble fairly quickly into a sphere. Design is by David Trubridge, New Zealand.
Setting piers for a raised walkway alongside a house. Planks of reclaimed redwood are different lengths and widths. I originally planned to make clean cuts along both sides, but the wild edge was so interesting that we kept it along one side.
Foundation parameters dug and gravel filled. Cabin is sited to be less than one foot from the existing house. Called the Solarium, it will become a blend of house and garden.
